THE government has announced the first of Britain’s new Trident nuclear submarines will be called Dreadnought – the tenth navy vessel to bear the impressive title.
The decision has emerged as the UK marks 211 years since Lord Nelson commanded the Royal Navy and defeated French and Spanish fleets in the Battle of Trafalgar.
As London’s hold events to mark the anniversary of the battle which took Nelson’s life, read below why the new sub has been called HMS Dreadnought and what it has to do with Trafalgar Day.
