Soft bodied robots are being developed by Harvard researchers. Soft Robotics, led by Harvard’s George Whitesides, have created a new type of soft actuator that functions like a “human bicep muscle”. The rubber vacuum-actuated muscle-inspired pneumatic structures expand and contract allowing the robotic limbs and other structures to move and grip. Jo Ankier and Margaret J.
