S. Korean Coast Guard fires 200 shots to chase off Chinese fishing boats

중국어선 단속 함정 향해 돌진…총탄 200발 발사하자 도주

The nation’s Coast Guard fired around 200 gunshots to chase away dozens of Chinese boats fishing illegally in South Korean waters earlier this week.
Some 44 boats are said to have violated Seoul’s exclusive economic zone… about 100 kilometers off the southwest island of Gageodo… Tuesday at dawn.
Despite a warning broadcast, the vessels, armed with wires and steel spears sailed toward a South Korean Coast Guard patrol boat.
Just after 9 a.m. local time, the Coast Guard fired some 200 shots with K-2 rifles, M-60 machine guns and shotguns.
The boats fled about five hours after that.
Illegal fishing by Chinese boats off the west coast has long been a headache for South Korea.
On many occasions they’ve resisted the Coast Guard violently.

  1. they are violating , trespassing , anything , and everything in the world , in every country n, especially africa , , insufffferable extorsionists

  2. Good for South Korea! Typical, thieving mainland Chinese mindset – “if you’re not using it, then we should get it.” It’s like that around the world. People’s Republic of Cowardice!
