Another lead indicating North Korea′s increased capabilities in building submarines this time， not for underwater missiles launches， but for transporting special forces.
Citing a source in the North′s Hamgyeongbuk－do Province… Radio Free Asia reports that North Korea finished building seven submarines， designed for infiltration， at its shipbuilding site in Cheongjin.
Their completion in October coincided with the 70th anniversary of the Workers′ Party.
The submarines， which are currently undergoing inspection， can cruise 60－meters underwater for a maximum of 80 hours and carry up to 30－special forces.
The source also told RFA that over two－thousand people worked 16－hours a day for the past two years… to build the submarines that use Russian steel and German engines.
