Lego aircraft carrier displayed in Liaoning

A Lego model of China’s aircraft carrier “Liaoning” is now on display in Liaoning Province.

The 44,000-piece model is being showcased in the provincial capital of Shenyang. The model is 9.02 meters long, 1.78 meters wide, 1.6 meters in height, and weighs 989 kilograms.

It took six people 180 days to finish the installation.

The Liaoning (the real one) is the first aircraft carrier commissioned in China, and is classified as a training ship, intended to allow the Navy to practice with carrier usage.

The ship was commissioned into the People’s Liberation Army Navy as Liaoning on September 25, 2012 after being purchased from Russia.
