China’s bombers, jet fighters and surveillance aircraft crossed the Tsushima Strait for the first time on December 18, 2017. The fleet included a Chinese PLA Su-30 fighter, an H-6K bomber and other multi-type aircraft. The training’s main purpose was to enhance ocean maneuverability. The Tsushima Strait lies between Korea and Japan, connecting the Sea of Japan, the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea.
