Daniel Bliss, a 95-year-old Air Force veteran who served in World War II and Korea, took it upon himself to teach a lesson in bravery to a child in Ohio who was scared to jump off a diving board at a the community pool on July 4. With the help of family and friends, the airman completed the task and out on a great show while he did it. His daughter, Christine Ross, caught the inspiring moment on camera. He’ll soon be 96, and told his grandson, Kevin Ross, after the video was taken that he ‘wants to be seen around the world.’ Mrs. Bliss, married to the swimming airman for 72 years, is also a member of the military, having served as an administrative aid in the US Coast Guard. Bliss is shown, inset, while serving on active duty.
